HDTV has celebrated great successes by the detachment of the CRT television sets by LCD and plasma television sets on the consumer market within the last few years. HDTV also moves on to the area of video surveillance now and promises, compared to analog CCTV systems, outstanding image quality. HDTV provides up to five times higher resolution than standard analog television. HDTV also has a higher colour fidelity and the format 16:9.
The two main HDTV standards defined by the SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) are SMPTE 296M and SMPTE 274M.
SMPTE 296M (HDTV 720P) defines a resolution of 1280x720 pixels with high color fidelity in 16:9 format, progressive scan with a frame rate of 25 or 30 fps and a 50/60 Hz refresh rate.
SMPTE 274M (HDTV 1080) defines a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with high color fidelity in 16:9 format and scanning technology in the interlaced or progressive mpde with 25/30 fps and 50/60 Hz.
When a camera meets the SMPTE standards and therefore matches the quality specifications of HDTV, it should offer all the benefits of HDTV in terms of resolution, color fidelity and frame rate.
HDTV screens are exactly like computer screens based on square pixels. Therefore HDTV video of a network video product can be shwon either at HDTV or at ordinary computer screens. HDTV video with a progressive scanning must not be converted or filtered progressively to be processed by a computer or be displayed on a computer screen.

Modern Webcams produce razor sharp moving images in high definition.
Ig these cameras deliver pictures via the Internet, the line is too weak to be able to deliver multiple streams for multiple concurrent users.
In such an event, the TV1 Content Delivery Network (CDN) solves the problem. We stream and host the content for you. How it works: The camera sends a live stream to the CDN, where it is distributed to server farm according to the demands of request performance - in real time. This ensures - no matter how many users want to watch at the same time - that everyone sees sharp smooth moving images.

On request, we record the generated streams in our data center. Thus, the images are safe and can be evaluated in case of a camera theft. Via Internet access, you always have access to the recorded material.
Over the Internet you connect your Axis camera with our CDN - ready!
